Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, has hailed the club’s new coach Luis Enrique and called him the most important signing of the season.
Bartomeu praised the 44-year-old’s managerial qualities in a speech at the 35th Supporters' Clubs World Conference.
"Luis Enrique is the biggest signing of the year. He brings passion, leadership and sacrifice. We have high hopes for him", the Barcelona president told Marca.
He continued by speaking about the club’s big-money signing, Luis Suarez, as well as the improved finances.
"He's really excited to be here. He's dreamed of playing here since he was little," he added.
"We are reducing the debt year after year and that allows us to think about the future. This year we've had a record income, at €630 million, and profits, at €41 million."
Bartomeu took office as Barcelona in January this year, following the resignation of Sandro Rosell.
