Barcelona president Josep María Bartomeu believes that Pep Guardiola will one day return to the Catalan giants.
"Those who have Barça in their hearts come back to help the club. I see a lot of people who will be at Barça in the future," Bartomeu replied when asked about Guardiola in an interview.
"In 2022, many of the players who are here now, or others currently at other clubs, will come back to Barça as coaches, directors of football or even presidents because at the end of the day, we are all like one big family," Bartomeu pointed out.
Bartomeu then went on to speak about former coach Gerardo Martino, after an unsuccessful season and also hailed star player Lionel Messi, describing the Argentine’s value as limitless to the club.
"He was a manager who came over from Argentina, and he saw football differently to the way we do," he said.
"For us, Messi is about a lot more than just goals and trophies; he represents the spirit of the young footballer, who came to La Masía, our football academy, and grew up at the club. Messi's value to Barça is limitless. He came to our club when he was 13 and he has just turned 27. He is one of us," he declared.
