Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta claims that Manchester United have given up their pursuit of midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The English Premier League champions have reportedly made three bids for the former Arsenal man, all of which were rejected by the Catalans.
Barcelona have continued to say that the 26-year-old Spain international was not for sale at any price and claim that United have now given up their hope of luring the playmaker from Camp Nou this summer.
"We count on Cesc (Fabregas), we're delighted to have him," Zubizarreta told Mundo Deportivo.
"United said they understand our position and won't try any longer."
It is thought that David Moyes could turn his attention to Marouane Fellaini after losing out on Fabregas, with the new United boss having already stated that he wants to bolster his midfield.
