According to the Catalan Daily Sport, FC Barcelona could be lining up a €45mio move for Man United’s star striker Robin van Persie, who was rumoured to have handed in a transfer request last week.
David Moyes declared such rumours as “absolute nonsense,” and went on further, “I don’t know what harder or tougher word I could say to you than that. That’s as good as I’ve got.”
However, the Spanish log leaders are stuttering a bit in the absence of their superstar Lionel Messi, and could be eyeing a bold January move for RVP.
It remains to be seen whether David Moyes and Manchester United would agree to sell one of their main players. RVP has battled through injury this season, but still stands on seven goals in 11 Premier League games.
The Dutch striker has scored 56 and assisted 38 league goals over the past two seasons for The Gunners and Manchester United. He also scored the imported winner against his old club Arsenal, but was side-lined with a groin injury over the international break and the following three league games.
He returned to Man United’s starting XI but was unable to prevent The Red Devils' fifth loss of the season and the first back-to-back home defeat in 11 years.
