Gareth Bale says that “the only downside” to Real Madrid’s La Liga win over Sevilla on Wednesday night was that Los Blancos shipped three goals.
Other than that, their 7-3 demolition job was a near perfect night out, especially for Bale, who silenced his critics with his first genuine star showing for Madrid.
After his stellar display, which included a welcome brace, Bale was rightly over the moon.
But he says he still has improving to do, and hopes that he and Madrid will enjoy more results together like the one they did last night.
"I felt good and I completed the whole game,” said Bale on Real’s official website.
"I have to keep improving and working hard to be one hundred per cent as soon as possible.
"It was a great night and important to my fitness.
"We played very well and hopefully we will have more games like this in the future.
"Now I continue to improve and work hard and as soon as possible try to be one hundred per cent."
Scoring seven goals with such attacking vigour gave Bale and Madrid a much needed jolt of confidence.
And the Welsh international says they now feel as if they are on the right track towards a place at the summit of Spanish football.
"It was a great game and a great atmosphere. We played very well and we got a lot of goals but the important thing is to have got the three points and we have scored many goals which is very positive for us” he said..
"The downside has been that we have received several goals, but we were good, it gives us confidence.
"We have a lot of confidence and hopefully we can keep winning and producing performances like tonight."
