Bale Aims For La Decima

In his snappy all-orange Real Madrid kit, the world’s most expensive footballer- Gareth Bale- spelled out his intentions at the Bernabeu: ‘L-A’  ‘D-E-C-I-M-A’.

Bale has only been a Galactico for a matter of days, and has spent just two training sessions in the company of his illustrious new club-mates.

But he already knows just what to say to get the Madrid faithful purring.

And he says his major goal after joining Europe’s most successful club of all-time is help them win their craved 10th European Cup.

“I have already learned how to say ‘La Decima’,” Bale told AS.

“At this club you must win every game -- we go into every training session and every game with this objective. Not just the Champions League. Of course there is pressure because at Madrid you have to win every game. We are going to work hard to do that. ”

Meanwhile, Bale says he is beginning to settle in at Madrid, and has thanked the player who he will probably spend an inordinate amount of time in front of the mirror with, as they apply copious amounts of product to their hair together.

“Obviously, the lads have been good to me this first few days,” Bale said.

“Cristiano [Ronaldo] is a great guy. He has made me feel good and I hope to do well on the pitch with him. I am looking forward to getting out onto the pitch and to play with him -- that is one of the reasons I came here.”

With players like CR7 and Angel Di Maria already excelling in the areas of the pitch where Bale likes to wreak havoc himself, and niggling injuries to Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao, there is a chance he could feature as a left-back against Villarreal this weekend.

But for now, Bale does not mind where he is deployed. He is simply itching to run onto the pitch as a Real Madrid player.

"I will play in the position on the field that the manager tells me, and I will give 100% for the team there,” he said.

“I hope that I settle in very well and I will work for that in every game. I hope you will soon see that on the pitch.”
