Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has heaped praise on former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola and his former mentor Jose Mourinho.
Villas-Boas believes that Guardiola set the standard with the style of play he got Barcelona to play, which saw the Catalans lift 14 trophies in four years.
"Guardiola set the standard. People respect the style of play, football philosophy and values he created," Villas-Boas told Portuguese magazine Expresso.
"Barcelona play fast football that can be slow at the same time. The players always make the right decisions when on the ball."
Villas-Boas was part of Jose Mourinho's backroom staff during their stint together at Chelsea, and also admitted that it was a great learning experience for him.
"Working with Mourinho was the best learning experience, it helped me a lot," he added.
The Europa League winner was unable to emulate Mourinho's success at Stamford Bridge though as he was sacked following a difficult few months.
"We didn't get the chance when things were still possible. It was not right," he added.
