Atletico Madrid are reportedly closing in on signing Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku.

Spanish and English media report that Lukaku could be included in the deal of Diego Costa to Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old has played his previous two seasons on loan at West Bromwich and Everton, scoring 17 and 15 goals respectively.

Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem keen to include Lukaku in his future plans and reports suggest that Chelsea’s preferred option is a sale of the striker for around £25m (R 450 million).

However, another loan deal as part of the Diego Costa transfer could also be agreed on.

Tottenham, Everton, Roma and Juventus are among the European clubs to have shown interest in the prolific Belgium striker.

But another factor which could give Atletico the nod is Chelsea’s interest in their full-back, Felipe Luis.

Lukaku, meanwhile, is focussing on the World Cu in Brazil, where the dark horses will open their campaign against Algeria on 17 June.
