Atletico Madrid dropped points at Mallorca on Sunday night as they were held to a 1-1 draw in their La Liga clash.
Raul Garcia gave the visitors the lead in the second half, but Kevin Garcia equalised late in the tie to earn the hosts a point.
Diego Costa had the best chance of the opening half but his attempt was kept out skillfully by Mallorca goalkeeper Dudu Aouate, who had a busy night between the sticks.
The travelers came even closer to opening the scoring on the hour mark, but Raul Garcia's header bounced off the woodwork as the sides remained deadlocked.
However, in the 72nd minute Atletico finally found their first goal as Garcia made up for his earlier miss. Diego Costa provided the cross and his team-mate tapped home from close range.
Giovani Dos Santos threatened to level matters and came close on a number of occasions, but it was Kevin Garcia who spoiled the traveling fans' premature celebrations.
Three minutes from full-time Kevin hit the back of the Atletico goal to make it 1-1. Dos Santos then scared the visitors again as a free-kick hit the woodwork.
Second-placed Atletico are now a staggering 11 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.
