Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, will reportedly use his time as a French TV expert in Brazil to scout for a new striker at the World Cup.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Wenger has identified Croatian Mario Mandzukic, Italian Mario Balotelli and his countryman Karim Benzema as targets for Arsenal.
Mandzukic has confirmed he wants to leave Bayern this summer, but Chelsea and Real Madrid are reportedly also monitoring the situation.
AC Milan seem to be keen to offload Balotelli, but Wenger is uncertain whether the extrovert will fit into the Arsenal squad.
Benzema, meanwhile, seems happy at Real Madrid and would cost a lot more than the other two.
The Arsenal boss is based in Sao Paulo at the Moment, where Croatia will play their opening game Brazil tonight. Unfortunately for Wenger, Mandzukic is suspended for the match following a red card in the 2-0 playoff win over Iceland last November.
Wenger is looking for competition for Olivier Giroud, who was Arsenal’s only real striker this past season. Despite scoring 16 goals, the Frenchman is seen as too slow and rigid for Arsenal’s style-of-play.
