Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is anxiously awaiting an update on the injury concerns about French striker, Olivier Giroud.
Giroud suffered an ankle injury after netting the equalizer in his side’s 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park when he charged down a clearance by Toffees defender, Sylvain Distin.
Arsene Wenger has been concerned about the striker’s fitness since the end of the match on Saturday and is waiting for reports from the club’s medical staff, who subjected Giroud to two scans to assess the extent of his injury.
Giroud will miss his side’s return leg in the Champions League qualifier against Besiktas on Wednesday and could face as much as three months on the sidelines if his manager’s worst fears are realized.
The former Montpellier man, who has 35 caps for France, has made 102 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions and has scored 41 goals since arriving at the London-based club in 2012.
Wenger may look to sign a new striker, while the transfer window is still open, with PSG's Edinson Cavani and QPR's Loic Remy reportedly on the French manager's wish-list.
