Former Real Madrid and England manager, Fabio Capello, has given his backing to both Carlo Ancelotti and Gareth Bale.
The duo has come under fire of late, with Los Blancos in stuttering form.
A defeat to Atletico Madrid in La Liga last weekend set alarm bells ringing at the Bernabeu, with Bale yet to show the stunning form he enjoyed for Spurs in the Spanish capital since his big money move from England.
Ancelotti meanwhile, has required the backing of his players amid growing criticism.
Madrid is probably the city with the most distorted sense of time in a football context.
Managers and players are expected to succeed immediately at the Bernabeu, but it is clear that Bale and Ancelotti are still to hit their straps.
Capello does not doubt them however. He believes that given time, they will reveal the talent and pedigree that compelled Los Blancos to sign them in the first place.
"The players are getting used to the change in the system of play," Capello, currently coach of the Russian national team, told Al Primer Toque.
"Carlo needs time. He has a great team. For me they are the biggest favourites to win the Champions League. There is no team with players like this."
"[Bale] is a great player, but we must give him time, so that he understands the style of football which Ancelotti wants," Capello added.
"And that he gets fully fit, because he needs that. The pace he has, the shot he has, he needs to be 100 percent physically."
Los Blancos face FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday, and while there is an argument to say that the need time to reach their best form, their legion of fans surely believe that there is no time like the present.
