The latest reports suggest Barcelona’s Thiago Alcantara could be on his way to Manchester United.
According to the Football Espana website, the Manchester club are set to offer the Blaugrana starlet up to £140,000-a-week.
The €7.2m (£6.1m) annual salary will see the Spain international earn more than the likes of Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck.
The latest reports say that Alcantara has reached an agreement with Manchester United, but that the Premier League club are yet to come to an agreement with Barcelona.
A €18m (£15.3m) deal is likely to go through, despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and late attempts from Tito Vilanova's men to keep the 22-year-old.
Thiago's current contract in the Catalan capital runs until 2015, but his original release clause of €90m (£76.9m) decreased dramatically after he failed to play a set amount of minutes during last season.
