The agent of Michael Laudrup has warned Swansea to back their manager in the transfer market or risk losing him to one of his many suitors.
Laudrup excelled in his first season at the Liberty Stadium, comfortably securing Swansea’s Premier League status, as well as winning the Capital One Cup.
The Welsh club are loath to lose the great Dane, and surely winced when the manager’s job at Everton opened up, and the Toffees began making come hither glances in Laudrup’s general direction.
Until now, Laudrup has insisted that his future remains at Swansea, but recently, top European clubs like Real Madrid, PSG and Benfica have flirted with him. And his agent says that Swansea will have to be generous in helping him “build a good team” if they are to keep him happy.
"When we expanded the contract of Michael Laudrup, we spoke with the board and the chairman that they're going to make a really good team for Michael," agent Bayram Tutumulu told the BBC.
"A good team is no problem. If they don't have the possibility of making a good team, I don't know what can happen. Michael needs good players.
"We don't want to have the same experience as Newcastle for example. He told the board and the chairman that Swansea need a very good squad this year."
