Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly asked after the availability of Paris Saint-Germain striker, Edinson Cavani.
The striker’s agent, Claudio Annelluci, has revealed that both clubs made an enquiry for his client earlier this summer transfer window.
"There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal," Annelluci told Uruguayan newspaper El Telegrafo.
"He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame, he just wants to be happy playing football."
Cavani joined PSG for a reported fee of £53 million last summer from Napoli, but could never live up to the expectations in France and found himself as second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 27-year-old was often switched to a wide role and is not happy at PSG, who seem open to let him leave for the right price this summer.
Liverpool and Arsenal, however, would have to stump up a huge transfer fee along with Cavani’s big-money wages.
Premier League rivals, Manchester United and Chelsea, have also been linked to Cavani and the heavy interest could end up in a bidding war.
Liverpool, however, are more likely to keep on chasing the striker since they still need to fill the gap left by Luis Suarez, while Arsenal already spent £32 million on Alexis Sanchez.
