Agent: Lewandowski Is Bound For Bayern

After two seasons in Borussia Dortmund’s shadow, Bayern Munich have categorically shown their domestic rivals where the seat of German football power lies.

First, the Bavarian giants powered to the Bundesliga title, destroying defending champions Dortmund by more than 20 points.

Then, in the build-up to the Champions League final, they crushed Dortmund’s spirit by stealing their best player, Mario Gotze, in a transfer swoop of ruthless brutality.

On Saturday night at Wembley came Bayern’s crowning achievement, as they deflected the best efforts of valiant Dortmund to annex the Champions League trophy, which after their devastating season, few can say they do not deserve.

But Bayern are not done defenestrating Dortmund yet.

According to the agent of Dortmund’s prolific striker Robert Lewandowski, the Polish striker is also going to join Bayern Munich.

A deal is yet to be inked, but an agreement between Lewandowski and Bayern has been agreed in principle.

And it now seems likely that an already mighty Bayern squad will be even better next season.

"For us it is clear, but we have not signed anything," agent Cezary Kucharski told Polish local news channel TVN24, regarding the likelihood of Lewa joining Bayern.

"The clubs need to reach an agreement."

Outgoing Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes has also indicated that it is all but certain Lewandowski will be plying his trade at the Allianz Arena next season.

"We know Mario Gotze will be joining us and I don't think Lewandowski will be hanging about too much either," Heynckes said after the Champions League final.

All Bayern need now is a stronger defender than Jerome Boateng, their only ‘weak link’, and it is hard to see any other team in Germany or Europe giving them a run for their money any time soon.

Dortmund meanwhile, have serious wounds to lick.

And even with the charismatic leadership of Jurgen Klopp and the talent of players like Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Reus to call on, it will take a herculean effort on their part to stop the Bayern juggernaut from gaining even more momentum.
