Algerian Faouzi Ghoulam is currently Africa's highest rated player, according to WhoScored. The Napoli defender has a rating of 7.65, slightly less than what he scored last time out. The 26-year-old has made 11 appearances for his Serie A side this campaign, scoring two goals and assisting a further three strikes.
Senegal international Salif Sane is another player who has surged up the list in recent weeks. The 27-year-old defender has a rating of 7.64 and has made 11 league appearances for Hannover this season.
Liverpool and Egypt winger Mohamed Salah is the highest climber this week, and sits in third place after being down in seventh last time out. The 25-year-old has a rating of 7.51 and has scored nine goals in 12 appearances in the Premier League for his Merseyside club this season.
Marseille and Cameroon international Clinton N'Jie is in fourth place with a score of 7.37, while Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang comes in at fifth with his rating of 7.36.
