Referee Jesus Gil Manzano revealed what Costa told him and as a result, the former Chelsea superstar's action has been slapped with an eight-match ban – four games for insulting the referee and four games for manhandling him.

Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez is no stranger to treading on the wrong side of the law. The 32-year-old has been involved in three separate biting incidents for Ajax Amsterdam, Liverpool, and Uruguay.
Suarez' most severe ban came after an occurrence in a group encounter at the 2014 FIFA World Cup against Italy, whereby he the Uruguayan found guilty of biting defender Georgio Chiellini and was banned from all footballing activities for four months.
Closer to home, former Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo was handed a severe four-year ban for the use of cocaine in 2016.
According to the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sports, Bibo, as the player is known in the local football fraternity revealed that he had been influenced by his friends to take the illegal substance.
Two years into his suspension, the now Baroka midfielder had his ban reduced to two years, following a successful appeal with the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sports.
