10 Stars Who Made Dream Moves After The Age Of 30

In a bid to bolster their attack, Barcelona have secured the Ghanaian's services on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the option to purchase the former AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur man at the end of the campaign.

In completing his shock move to Barcelona, Boateng became the first Ghanaian ever to ply his trade for the Catalans.

Boateng, however, isn't the first player to secure a dream move after the age of 30 – joins an illustrious list of players who have done so, including the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gabriel Batistuta, Frank Lampard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to name a few.

Following a trophy-laden nine-year stay at Real Madrid, Ronaldo joined Serie A champions Juventus in a four-year deal rumoured to be worth €100 million (R1.57 billion).

While Ronaldo has been surpassed as football's costliest player ever, his move to Turin at the age of 33 secured his spot as the most expensive player over the age of 30 in the history of the game.

Journeyman Ibrahimovic also makes an appearance on the list. Having turned out for the likes of Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus, Inter Milan and Barcelona, the lanky forward made the move from AC Milan to Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 30, and later completed a move to United at the age of 34.

Other players, as listed by FourFourTwo, who were subject of high-profile moves after turning 30 include Batistuta, who joined AS Roma from Fiorentina in 2000, and Andrea Pirlo, who shocked many when he swapped the Rossoneri for Juventus in 2011.
