According to Transfermarkt, Denmark and Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen could very well become a free agent at the end of the current season if he does not commit his future to the Lilywhites before then.
United goalkeeper David de Gea is in the same boat, with Juventus reportedly expressing an interest in securing his signature for free ahead of the 2020/21 season. The Italian giants are known for this clever business approach, which has seen them sign the likes of Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo and Aaron Ramsey for no transfer fee in the past.
Another top player in the final year of his contract is Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, who is the French champions' record scorer. Manchester City midfielder and captain David Silva has already decided he is moving on at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract, while it remains to be seen whether or not Los Blancos veteran Luka Modric, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, does the same once his deal expires next June.
