With the recent transfer window officially closed, the 10 most expensive January signings have now been revealed, with two Newcastle United acquisitions featuring among the top five.

It was a busy window for clubs across Europe, and particularly Premier League teams, who were responsible for seven of the 10 most expensive signings in January.
Newcastle, who were taken over by majority shareholders the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund in September last year, landed five new players ahead of the second half of the campaign, two of whom feature not only among the top 10, but the top five.
Chris Wood's signature cost the Magpies €30 million (R518 million), while Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes' arrival came after the Geordie club agreed a €42.1 million (R711 million) deal with French giants Olympique Lyon.
Tottenham Hotspur also got in on the action with their acquisition of Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, who joined from Serie A giants Juventus.

Further up the list is Luis Diaz's exciting move to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool from Porto, while the completed deals of Ferran Torres and Dusan Vlahovic to Barcelona and Juventus, respectively, also feature.
