It was a quieter deadline day than usual across Europe's top leagues, with Liverpool and Arsenal being the main actors.

The Reds completed the signings of Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies, while Takumi Minamino and Sepp van den Berg left on loans.

Arsenal sent Joe Willock to Newcastle United and Ainsley Maitland-Niles to West Bromwhich Albion on loan deals after agreeing to cancel the contract of Shkodran Mustafi, who joined Bundesliga side Schalke 04 on a free transfer.

There was late action on deadline day as Everton signed Joshua King from AFC Bournemouth – a deal that was announced at 03:00 SA time. Meanwhile, Brighton bought Moises Caicedo, who was linked with United earlier in the window, from Ecuadorian side Independiente.

In LaLiga, Barcelona ended Jean-Clair Todibo's loan with Benfica and sent him to OGC Nice instead.
