With the transfer window shutting on Thursday night, here are the most expensive deals so far, with two transfers bettering Paul Pogba's world record from last season.

Click through the gallery above to see the 10 costliest deals of this window so far, as per Transfermarkt.

FC Barcelona were involved in both record deals this window so far, selling Neymar for a record fee of €222 million (R3.4 billion) after Paris Saint-Germain activated the Brazilian's release clause. As a consequence, the Catalan giants then bought Ousmane Dembele for an initial fee of €105 million (R1.65 billion) from Borussia Dortmund, along with a reported €42 million (R660 million) in performance-based add-ons.

Both these deals are higher than Paul Pogba's record deal worth €105 million overall for his transfer to Manchester United last season, but the Red Devils have splashed the cash once again and currently have the most expensive transfer in England after Romelu Lukaku joined them for €84.7 million (R1.33 billion) from Everton.

Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea in a club record deal worth €65 million (R1 billion) and was the fourth most expensive deal so far, while Benjamin Mendy's €57.5 million (R904 million) move from AS Monaco to Manchester City completes the top five.

Alexandre Lacazette, at €53 million (R834 million), became Arsenal's most expensive buy in history and sits in sixth position overall, while Kyle Walker, with €51 million (R802 million), and Bernardo Silva, with €50 million (R786 million), added to Pep Guardiola's spending spree.
