Reports: What Zinedine Zidane Told Wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo
News emerged on Friday that Cristiano Ronaldo apparently wants to leave Real Madrid, and Zinedine Zidane reportedly called his superstar as a result.
The Frenchman is hoping he can convince Ronaldo to stay with Los Blancos, as reportedly by Marca.
Upon hearing the news, the Real boss reportedly immediately phoned his player, who is currently with Portugal at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, to discover the real reasons behind his decision to make his intentions public.
The 32-year-old apparently told Portuguese and Spanish media, via his representatives, that he is keen on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu club.
Zidane and Ronaldo have an excellent relationship, and it was only the Frenchman who could convince the superstar that more rest during the season was for the benefit of himself and the team.
The coach's message to his wantaway star was clear, according to Marca. He apparently told Ronaldo that Madrid is the best place for him and that the current team can go on and win plenty more trophies, but need his goals to do so.
Club captain Sergio Ramos apparently also called Ronaldo to in an effort to persuade him against leaving Madrid.
The Portugal captain is reportedly unhappy at constantly being whistled at by his own team's fans, while the recent tax fraud allegations and the resulting negative media reports are said to have been the final straw for the Portuguese.
