Reports: Real Madrid Ready To Offer Arsenal One Of Their Stars
Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer Premier League side Arsenal the opportunity to sign one of their star players.
According to The Sun, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has decided that it may be time to cash in on France international Karim Benzema, and has apparently alerted the Gunners as to his availability.
The 29-year-old is expected to cost any interested club about £62 million (R1 billion), a fee that could help the La Liga side fund a move for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe.
The Gunners have been linked with Benzema a few times before, but manager Arsene Wenger has not been able to persuade the striker to make the move to London.
Arsenal have already spent £46.5 million (R788 million) on former Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this month, so it seems unlikely they will spend big on another forward.
Any deal for Benzema will take place if Real are certain they will secure 18-year-old Mbappe's signature as the club has already let go of two attackers in this window, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez.
Benzema joined Real back in 2009 for a fee of about £31 million (R524 million), and has since gone on to score 181 goals in 365 appearances for the Madrid club.
