Reports coming out of Italy suggest that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Serie A champions Juventus are looking at possibly doing a swap deal in the January transfer window.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Los Blancos could swap veteran Marcelo for his countryman Alex Sandro, who is said to be keen to leave Italy.
It has been claimed that Marcelo has a questionable relationship with Real's new manager Julen Lopetegui, and is not happy with how he is being treated by the former Spain coach.
The Brazilian is also believed to be interested in reuniting with his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who made a £100 million (R1.98 billion) move from Madrid to Turin during the latest transfer window.
Juventus were believed to be interested in the 32-year-old fullback at the beginning of the season too, but could not come up with a deal that would entice Real to sell the player.
However, the Santiago Bernabeu club is now said to be keen to do business with the Italian side should they include left-back Sandro in any potential deal.
Do you think this swap deal would be a good bit of business for both parties? Have your say in the comments section below.
