Reports: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Offered Massive Wages To Play In China
Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly been offered £500 000 (R8.3 million) a week to play in China next season.
According to German news agency Bild, the Gabon international is close to agreeing a £71 million (R1.19 billion) deal with Chinese Super League giants Tianjin Quanjian.
The striker is one of the most sought after players in Europe, having been linked with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United, among others.
However, the big-money deal has supposedly stalled due to China's new laws, which see clubs now having to pay 100% tax on their foreign signings.
Tianjin are believed to be convinced that Aubameyang is the player to take the club to the next level in Asian football.
In addition, new Dortmund boss Peter Bosz has apparently been told he should prepare his team for the new season without the African striker as the club are expected to sell him.
The 28-year-old made 46 appearances for the Bundesliga club last season, scoring 40 goals and assisting five further strikes in all competitions.
