Reports: Liverpool Break Club Record For African Star

Liverpool have reportedly broken their transfer record after signing an African superstar on one condition.

The Reds, who have also been linked with Thomas Lemar on Monday, have reportedly agreed to a club-record deal for Naby Keita.

According to Times journalist Paul Joyce, Liverpool will pay his £48 million (R811m) release clause, which only becomes applicable next year.

The Guinea midfielder allegedly completed his Liverpool medical today, but will only join the club next year.

The 22-year-old impressed for newly promoted side Red Bull Leipzig last season, scoring eight goals and assisting in another eight, which earned him a spot in the official Bundesliga Team of the Season.
