Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo Holding Up Alvaro Morata’s Manchester United Move
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly the reason for the hold-up Alvaro Morata's move to Manchester United.
According to Diario Gol, the doubts over the Portugal captain's future at the club is delaying the Spanish star's departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.
A few weeks ago, Ronaldo reportedly told the La Liga champions he wants to leave after being accused of tax fraud by the Spanish authorities.
The Spanish publication's report stated that Real are willing to sell the 24-year-old to the Red Devils, but want to make sure they know where Ronaldo's future lies first.
There have been rumours that the 32-year-old forward is also keen on returning to his former club United, but manager Jose Mourinho is apparently not keen on signing his compatriot.
It has been reported that newly-married Morata cut his honeymoon short in order to push through his deal to the 2016/17 Europa League champions, despite Los Blancos waiting on Ronaldo's decision.
The Spaniard made 43 appearances for Real last season, scoring 20 goals and assisting six further strikes in all competitions.
