The French giants have ended their transfer tussle with the Catalan giants, and announced the signing of the Brazilian after paying his massive €222 million (R3.46 billion) release clause.
Neymar joins PSG on a five-year deal, replacing Paul Pogba as most expensive player in football history in the process.
“It is with immense joy and pride that we welcome Neymar Jr to Paris Saint-Germain, PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, President told the club's official website.
"Neymar Jr is today one of the very best players in world football. His winning mentality, strength of character and sense of leadership have made him into a great player. He will bring a very positive energy to this club. In six years, we have built a very ambitious project that has already taken us to the highest level of national and European football. Today, with the arrival of Neymar Jr, I am convinced that we will come even closer, with the support of our faithful fans, to realizing our greatest dreams.”The 25-year-old will apparently earn an annual salary of €30 million (R468 million), after deductions, with the French giants, effectively becoming the best paid footballer in Europe.
Neymar leaves Barcelona after three years at the Camp Nou, having scored 105 goals and assisted another 80 strikes in 186 appearances for the club.
He lifted nine trophies during his stint at the Blaugrana, and will hope to add more to his trophy cabinet in France.
