The Merseyside club could find themselves active on deadline day up until the very final minutes of the window, with a few departures and arrivals being mooted.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's move from Arsenal is said to be all but confirmed, with the player already having been pictured in Liverpool training kit.

It has been widely reported that the England international snubbed Chelsea for Klopp's side as he felt he might have been used as wing-back for the Blues – a position he does not want to play.

The report also claimed Liverpool are still chasing Virgil van Dijk's signature from Southampton, with many English publications tipping the deal to be finalised before deadline. It is believed they could sign the Dutchman for around £65 million (R1 billion).

Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar is also reportedly a target of Klopp's, with the Merseyside club said to be willing to spend about £70 million (R1.1 billion) on the French international, which could take the club's spending to £170 million (R2.8 billion) on deadline day.

La Stampa has linked Germany international Emre Can with a move to Juventus, although the Reds have reportedly made it clear he will not be leaving in this transfer window.

Belgium striker Divock Origi is said to be close to a loan switch to Wolfsburg, according to La Provence, after a loan move to Marseille apparently fell through.

And finally, a lot of talk still surrounds Philippe Coutinho's future at Liverpool. Reports claim the Merseyside club are unwilling to sell the Brazilian, while media in Spain have suggested that FC Barcelona are still desperate to conclude a deal for the Selecao star.
