Jose Mourinho & Antonio Conte To Go To War Over £100m Star
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and Chelsea counterpart Antonio Conte could reportedly go to war for the signature of a £100 million (R1.7 billion) star.
The Portuguese tactician apparently still wants to lure Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford, even if United get his first target, Alvaro Morata, according to the Daily Star.
The Belgium striker has rejected an offer to extend his Everton contract, and is reportedly Conte's main target at Chelsea.
Lukaku has been heavily linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, having left the club for £28 million (R479 million) in 2014.
Conte apparently sees the former Blues striker as an ideal replacement for Diego Costa – he reportedly told the Spaniard via SMS that he is not planning for the 2017/18 campaign with him in mind.
However, new reports suggest that Lukaku would prefer a move to the Red Devils, as BBC Sports' Richard Askam claimed.
Lukaku has scored 87 goals in 166 games since joining Everton, and now reportedly wants to take the next step in his career.
