Manchester United have reportedly not given up on signing Real Madrid star Gareth Bale and have set aside €150 million to lure him to Old Trafford.
In another episode of our Crazy Transfers feature, we look at the latest Spanish reports claiming that the Red Devils are still keen on Welshman.
However, while Real Madrid know about the interest from the English giants, they are reportedly not prepared to sell Bale.
The report in Spanish publication AS claims that “senior figures at United are willing to bust the bank” to sign the 25-year-old.
United are reportedly unhappy with the return of multi-million pound signings Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Marouane Fellaini and Radamel Falcao.
The Red Devils could be tempted to use goalkeeper David De Gea as part of the Bale-deal, since it is well known that Los Blancos have identified the Spaniard as long-term Iker Casillas replacement.
However, Bale himself seems to be keen on staying at Bernabeu after winning four trophies since joining them for a world-record fee of €101 million in 2013.
“I am very happy. I am happy here, I still have many years of my contract left (until 2019) and I want to continue winning titles at Real Madrid," Bale told Spanish radio station Cadena SER on Tuesday.
