According to English publication The Telegraph, Mourinho has re-signed 10 players in his career, the latest being Serbian international Matic.

The 29-year-old worked with the Portuguese tactician at Chelsea back in 2014, after the player's unsuccessful first stint at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho paid Benfica £21 million (R367 million) to secure the defensive midfielder's services for the Blues a second time, and now, three years down the line, the manager has decided to splash the cash on him again in order to make him a Red Devil.

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku is another player the former Chelsea boss has worked with on two occasions. The 24-year-old first signed for the Blues from Anderlecht in 2011, and was eventually sold to Everton after a few loan deals. Six years later, Lukaku is once again working under his former mentor, but this time he is considered a more matured goalscorer.

Former Portugal international Ricardo Carvalho ended up following Mourinho to three different clubs during his career. The central defender had some very successful stints under the 54-year-old at FC Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

African superstar Didier Drogba was also signed by Mourinho twice, but during two very different moments in his career. The first time the Ivorian was signed by the Portuguese tactician, for Chelsea, he was devastating and led the team to silverware on more than one occasion. His second stint under Mourinho and Chelsea was more of a mentoring role, providing cover for Diego Costa.
