Messi Names Five Contenders For World Cup Title

FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has named five countries that can rival Argentina for the 2018 World Cup title in Russia.

Argentina begin their World Cup campaign with a clash against tournament debutants Iceland, before they take on Croatia and finally Nigeria.

Messi helped Argentina reached the final at the last World Cup in 2014, where they eventually lost 1-0 to Germany in extra time.

There are various teams going in to the tournament with confidence, playing well and with good individuals, as is the case with Brazil, Germany, Spain, France and Belgium, although the latter is not mentioned as much," Messi told Sport, according to the Mirror.

"[Argentina] have good players and the experience of the last World Cup. It will be an even competition."
