Messi's Mom: My Son Has Cried A Lot For Argentina

Lionel Messi's Mom: My Son Has Cried A Lot For Argentina

By Kurt Buckerfield - Jun 21, 2018 02:23 PM @KurtLaduma

Superstar Lionel Messi has often been criticised for his performances with Argentina, despite being their record goalscorer. The FC Barcelona player's mom has now spoken about her son's passion for his country, and recalled the tears he has shed for his nation.

'I Can Play Alongside Messi'

Although he is considered among the best players in history, the 30-year-old has long lived in the shadow of Diego Maradona when it comes to the international stage.

The Albiceleste legend helped his country win the 1986 FIFA World Cup, while Messi has lost three major finals with Argentina.

There has also been a belief in the South American nation that the forward does not really care for the national team as much as he does for the Blaugrana, but his mom, Celia Cuccittini, has insisted there is nothing her son wants more than success with his country.

"For those who criticise him, they should have seen him suffer and cry (for Argentina), as we have," she told Channel 13.

"The criticism hurts you. He is the first one who wants to win.

"His dream is to win the World Cup, it's one of his most desired goals.

"I see him very relaxed and he has a lot of confidence."

Messi and company, who drew with Iceland in their first game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will go up against Croatia on Thursday evening, in what is a must-win game for the Argentines.

Really!! Is what he can do best.....CRYING? No wonder he has to be only VOTED to prove his best.....more or less like idols, instead of in-field output. He is 30yrs and very soon turning 31......this is the only W.Cup he can deliver. But if he is to sissy-out with tears like a corward......he is far from being the best footballer, he might be the best dribbler, but not a complete footballer. The 2 highest levels of football, international level (its only the W Cup), club football (its UEFA). In both these levels.....he is nothing close to being "the best". If so, let him deliver something in this W Cup.
