Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo continued his brilliant form in Portugal's 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B win over Morocco on Wednesday. Now the leading goalscorer at the tournament, his national team boss believes the Real Madrid talisman is ageing like fine wine.
The forward has been written off many times as he has got older, but like most world-class players do, Ronaldo has continuously proved his doubters wrong.
The Portuguese scored his fourth goal of the 2018 World Cup when he found the net against the Pharaohs in his country's 1-0 win, much to the delight of manager Fernando Santos.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is like a port wine, he changes as he ages," Santos said, according to First Post.
"He's constantly evolving. Unlike regular players, he's always evolving.
"He won't be doing the same thing in two or three years, and he's not doing what he did four or five years ago.
"He knows himself well and knows what he needs to do."
Ronaldo has also now scored 85 goals for his country, which means he is the all-time highest-scoring European at international level.
