Following the arrival of new boss Ronald Koeman, a number of Barca players are said to be on the Dutchman's exit list, with the Uruguay striker the headline name.
Reports have already suggested that Juventus are closing in on the forward, and that Suarez has agreed personal terms with the Serie A giants.
However, the International Business Times has reported that Messi has told Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu that they need to block that impending transfer, otherwise he could make a U-turn on his decision to stay at the club.

Suarez was also recently quoted by El Pais, regarding his future at the Catalan club, as saying: "There is talk of some names that the president gave, of changes that can be made, but nobody told me that they want to do without me.
"I also want the best for the club and my plan today is to continue, but if the club thinks that I am expendable, I have no problem speaking with those who decide.
"(I want to stay), as long as I am counted on, I want to continue contributing as much as I can."
The 33-year-old has been at Barca for six years now, and played a key role in their recent success alongside Messi, with the attacking duo said to have a strong relationship both on and off of the pitch.
