Teenage African sensation Ansu Fati has taken LaLiga by storm in recent weeks, and the FC Barcelona wonderkid now looks set to sign a new contract with the club, one that includes a massive release clause.
The Guinea-Bissau-born forward became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer when he netted against Osasuna last month, and broke another record on Tuesday night when he became the youngest player to feature for Barca in the Uefa Champions League.
He will also become the competition's youngest-ever goalscorer if he nets in any of Barcelona's group stage matches, breaking the record currently held by former Olympiakos and Ghana striker Peter Ofori-Quaye.
Fati's meteoric rise appears to have been recognised by the Catalan giants, who have reportedly offered their latest academy product a bumper new deal.
According to Catalunya Radio, and as reported by AS, Barcelona have offered the youngster a new five-year deal with a reported release clause of €100 million (R1.6 billion).
In terms of the new deal, Fati would earn an immediate renewal bonus of €700 000 (R11.3 million), as well a further €1 million (R16.2 million) per year plus an annual increase of €250 000 (R4 million) provided he remains in the first team.
