Reports: Manchester City Striker Sergio Aguero Punched Fan After FA Cup Defeat

By Keegan Kruger - Feb 20, 2018 07:30 AM @KeeganKruger

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is believed to have thrown a punch at an opposition supporter after his side's 1-0 defeat to a League One club in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.

Soon after the final whistle, the home side's fans stormed the pitch at the DW Stadium, and it was during this moment when the Argentine was confronted by an overjoyed supporter, as seen on the television cameras.

The exchange between the player and the fan sparked a furious reaction from the 29-year-old Argentine, who seemingly threw a punch in frustration, before being restrained by teammates, opposition players and some of the backroom staff.

Will Grigg's 79th-minute goal secured the win for Wigan over the Premier League leaders, who had Fabian Delph sent off for a tackle on Max Power in the first half.

The City striker could be in serious trouble if the English Football Association decides there is enough evidence against him, which could see him sit out a number of games in the coming weeks.

Do you think Aguero should be punished for his actions on Monday night? Have your say in the comments section below.

@nazzi the second , Pep Guardiola is nothing but s chequebook manager. Mourinho has pedigree. He won titles with Porto and Inter. Pep spends millions on an already well oiled machine like city and you people expect us to praise him.

This is uncalled for, players should be disciplined at all times even if they are put in a difficult position. I'm disappointed in Aguero and congratulations to Wigan, a job well done!

Hahahaha and the downward spiral starts..... I knew it. People are quick to praise.... Just two minutes ago people were talking about a quadruple.... Hehe..... They clearly don't much about football. Man City are only going to win the league this season and nothing else. And now that Pep has taught the world how to buy the league, other clubs are going to follow suit and it make it difficult for him to win anything next season. I am not a fan of buying trophies. I love purists like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. There is just something about substance that can't be bought and this essentially what will be the Cityzens' undoing. Sure, they look good on the eye but when pedigree is called upon, I fear they will falter.
