Manchester United came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 to secure their spot in the FA Cup final thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera.
After a fiery opening at Wembley Stadium, Spurs took the lead in the 11th minute after Dele Alli raced to the far post to poke in Christian Eriksen’s cross, 0-1.
United did not sit back and restored parity in the 24th minute, with Sanchez heading home Paul Pogba’s cross, 1-1.
Jose Mourinho’s charges had a lot of joy with crosses into the area and were threatening to go ahead after half an hour.
Spurs nearly regained the lead shortly before the break when Eric Dier rattled the upright with David de Gea well beaten.
The tie was still tightly contested in the opening stages of the second stanza, with both sides organised defensively.
Herrera sparked the encounter into life by putting the Red Devils ahead two minutes after the hour with a thumping strike from the edge of the box.
Eriksen nearly got the equaliser for Spurs 15 minutes before time with a dipping strike that swerved inches wide of De Gea's
United seemed under control with five minutes to go, although Jose Mourinho did introduce Marcus Rashford for the final stages.
In the end, the Red Devils stayed resolute to make their way into the final.
