The showpiece finally gets underway on Friday night when Italy take on Turkey in Rome, with the final of the tournament set to be played at Wembley Stadium on 11 July.
Over the next month, international football followers will be treated to some high-profile matches, in which many big-name players will feature, but who are the biggest earners at the Euros?
According to the five-man list compiled by Silly Season, Wales winger Gareth Bale features with his reported annual salary of €24 million (R395 million), a figure that would have been shared by both Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid last season.
The 31-year-old will return to Spain after the tournament to discuss his future with new manager Carlo Ancelotti at Los Blancos, where he still has a year remaining on his contract with the LaLiga club.
Further up the standing is Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe, who heads into the Euros on the back of a dispute with France teammate Olivier Giroud, who was critical of a few French players earlier this week following Les Bleus' 3-0 win over Bulgaria.
Leading the way in top spot is, perhaps unsurprisingly, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, whose yearly salary is believed to be around three times more than the Manchester United player in second place. You can see the five-player ranking in full in the mini-gallery above!
