England 5-3 Kosovo
England maintained their perfect run in the 2020 European Championship qualifiers after thrashing Kosovo 5-3 in Group A on Tuesday evening at St. Mary’s Stadium.
Valon Berisha gave Gareth Southgate’s men a scare after grabbing a shock lead for the visitors inside the first minute of the match, but Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, an own goal from Mergim Vojvoda and a Jadon Sancho grabbed a brace gave England a commanding 5-1 lead going to the break.
Verisha reduced to deficit to 5-2 for Kosovo four minutes after the break before Veda Muriqi pulled back another goal six minutes later, while Kane failed to convert a penalty as England remain top of Group A, while Kosovo were left in third place with eight points.
France 3-0 Andorra
France maintained top spot in Group H after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Andorra on Tuesday evening at Stade de France.
Kingsley Coman grabbed an early lead for Les Bleus in the 18th minute before Antoine Griezmann saw his penalty saved. Clement Lenglet eventually made it 2-0 seven minutes after the break while Wissam Ben Yedder wrapped up the victory in second-half stoppage time.
Luxembourg 1-3 Serbia
Serbia kept their hopes of qualifying alive after thrashing Luxembourg 3-1 in a Group B qualifier on courtesy of a brace by Aleksandar Mitrovic on Tuesday evening at Stade Josy Barthel.
Mitrovic and Nemanja Radinij put the visitors two goals before David Turpel pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 66th minute. However, Mitrovic put the game beyond Luxembourg with the third goal for Serbia and his brace in the last 12 minutes.
Serbia remained in third place with seven points from five matches in Group B, just one point behind second-placed Portugal (who have a game in hand) while Luxembourg were left unchanged in fourth place.
Moldova 0-4 Turkey
Turkey continued their good form in Group H after thrashing Moldova 4-0 on Tuesday evening at Stadionul Zimbru.
Cenk Tosun contributed with a brace, while Deniz Turuc and Yusuf Yazici also got on the score-sheet for the visitors, who remain in second place in Group H,while Moldova were left lying fifth.
