England Claim Three Points Against Estonia
Euro 2016 Qualifiers
Result: England 2-0 Estonia
Date: 9 October 2015
Venue: Wembley Stadium
England recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Estonia in their Euro 2016 qualifier on Friday night.
The Three Lions looked to be positive straight from the outset and forced a save from Mikhel Aksalu in the first three minutes as Theo Walcott struck a volley from inside the area.
Adam Lallana got the ball from Clyne and in turn played it on for Ross Barkley who ran onto the ball and hit a shot, but sent it straight at Aksalu.
The hosts dominated the possession stakes in the first half but just couldn't find a way through Estonia who were content putting numbers behind the ball.
However, the opening goal arrived on the stroke of half-time. Barkley provided the assist, sending a pass to Walcott who controlled it well before placing his shot past Aksalu.
After the interval, England continued enjoying most of the possession and forced a few more saves from the Estonian gloveman, with the likes of Harry Kane and Barkley threatening to score.
The victory was finally secured in the 85th minute when Jamie Vardy beat a defender before selflessly setting it up for Raheem Sterling to score from close range with a tap-in.
