Italy have qualified for the European Championships after they secured a 3-1 win over Azerbaijan on Saturday night.
The Italians were without the services of Andrea Pirlo, while Stephan El Sharaawy was deployed in the attack along with Graziano Pelle and Eder.
Antonio Conte's eventually broke the deadlock in the 11th minute when Marco Verratti threaded a pass for Eder, who slotted home with a neat finish.
The visitors nearly doubled their advantage in the 16th minute but Azerbaijan goalkeeper Agayev was on hand to keep out Pelle's half-volley.
However, Azerbaijan leveled matters in the 31st minute when Dimitrij Nazarov fired past Gianluigi Buffon from the edge of the box, after a poor clearance from Giorgii Chiellini.
Italy restored their lead just before the halftime break when Antonio Candreva un-selfishly teed up El Sharaawy for the easiest of tap-ins.
Rasad Farhad Sadiqov came to the home side's rescue in the 62nd minute, as he popped up with a clearance off the line to deny Eder.
Conte's men eventually got their third goal in the 65th minute through Matteo Darmian, as the Italian full-back rifled home an effort from 30-yards out.
Buffon was called upon in the 71st minute when Nazarov found space on the edge of the area, however the Italian shot-stopper pulled off a fine stop to deny the goalscorer.
Azerbaijan's night ended on a sour note, as they were reduced to 10 men after Red Card Badavi was shown a straight red card for a foul on Sebastian Giovinco.
The win sees the Italians become the 10th team to qualify for the European Championship next year.
