The Swede rejoined the club after his initial contract with the Red Devils expired in June this year. However, after seemingly making superb progress in his recovery from a knee injury, United decided to re-sign the 35-year-old.
English publication The Sun has claimed that Ibrahimovic will earn about half of the whopping £367 000 (R6.1 million) wage he received last season.
The report suggested that the Swede has penned a one-year deal worth £180 000 (R3 million) a week after he convinced manager Jose Mourinho of his fitness levels.
The striker's new deal places him in fourth position among United's highest paid players, with Paul Pogba reportedly sitting on £280 000 (R4.7 million) per week, while Romelu Lukaku, with £240 000 (R4 million) a week, and David De Gea, with £200 000 (R3.4 million) weekly, completing the top three earners at the club.
Ibrahimovic's new deal would still make him the record earner at Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool.
