Zlatan's Major Pay Cut Revealed?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Major Pay Cut Revealed?
Veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly took a shocking pay cut when he joined LA Galaxy from English giants Manchester United.
According to Marca, the retired Sweden international will be earning 95% less in the MLS than he was at Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic was said to be earning £19 million (R315 million) a year in England, compared to the £850 000 (R14 million) per annum it has been claimed he will earn in the US.
The wage cut comes after it was reported that because he is not one of Galaxy's "designated players", the club are restricted to a wage limit for the player.
This mean that the former United striker will now earn just £16 000 (R265 000) a week in America, a huge drop from what he was being paid in England.
Ibrahimovic's exit from Jose Mourinho's United perhaps came as a surprise to many as he was expected to remain at the club at least until the end of the season.
The 36-year-old spent most of this campaign on the sidelines due to an injury he sustained towards the back-end of last season.
Ibrahimovic scored 29 goals and assisted a further 10 strikes in 53 games for United, winning three trophies along the way.
