The Zamalek players have had their wages suspended by president Mortada Mansour after back-to-back losses.
The White Knights reclaimed the Egyptian Premier League title last season but have not been convincing this time around, although they do remain top of the log.
Zamalek, however, suffered back-to-back defeats to ENNPI and El Geish which has left the side two points ahead of Pyramids while Al Ahly sit eight points, having played four games less.
Egyptian publication KingFut have reported that Mansour has taken the decision to suspend the players' wages as a result of the back-to-back defeats, which took their tally three defeats all campaign.
The White Knights will now look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Ismaily on next weekend.
Mansour also announced that the defending Egyptian champions will no longer play their league encounters at the Cairo International Stadium.
