Reports in England suggest that African legend Yaya Toure is in talks with a Premier League club, but a deal is yet to be confirmed amid certain concerns.

'Why Pogba Is Scared To Play For Man Utd'

According to The Sun, London side West Ham United are currently talking to the former Manchester City midfielder's representatives, but there are a few things that concern them with regards to offering him a contract.

Toure has admitted he would like to stay in the English top flight, and there is a possibility he could reunite with former Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini at the London Stadium, with there being speculation the Hammers could offer him a deal worth £100 000 (R1.78 million) a week.

However, it has been claimed the Chilean boss is worried about the midfielder's recent behaviour in the press, and does not want to bring the Ivorian into his set-up if he is going to be more of a distraction than an asset.

"Manuel Pellegrini might like him, but Toure is perceived as by some others as having too much baggage," a source close to West Ham said, according to The Sun.

"There are worries he might actually disrupt the dressing room, and there is also little time for his agent.

"The comments about Guardiola have made them think twice, and they also wonder if he still has it in his legs.

"It would take a lot of convincing from the new manager, who is currently focused on a lot of other things."
