With Mohamed Salah having been linked with the likes of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid following his superb debut season for Liverpool, his national team coach has now explained why he thinks the African superstar could end up leaving the Reds.
The Egypt winger was once again the hero for his country last Friday, scoring the winner in the Pharaohs' 3-2 victory over Tunisia in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Speaking this week, Egypt coach Javier Aguirre has insisted Liverpool need to start winning trophies or risk losing the 2017 African Player of the Year.
"Salah may leave Liverpool in a season or two if he does not win trophies," the Mexican coach said, as quoted by KingFut.
"Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp knows that very well and that's why they are working hard to win trophies."
Salah has been linked with moves to both Real and Barca, but did extended his Liverpool contract until 2023 at the beginning of the season.
He has begun the new campaign with eight goals and four assists in 17 games across all competitions for the Reds so far.
